Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy

(KAP)

KAP is a structured, therapeutic process that combines the medical use of ketamine with psychotherapy to support insight and healing.

 FAQs

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

How it Works:

The process includes three key stages: Preparation, Dosing, and Integration.

1. Preparation Sessions

Before any ketamine is administered, we will meet together to conduct an initial intake to understand what brings you into therapy and clarify if KAP is consistent with your goals.

What happens:

  • Comprehensive intake with myself and a medical screening (with collaboration from a licensed prescriber) in collaboration with Journey Clinical

  • Exploration of your intentions, mental health history, and current challenges

  • Education about the effects of ketamine and how it works therapeutically

  • Setting expectations and addressing questions or concerns

  • Mindset (your inner state) and setting (the therapeutic environment) are carefully prepared

    Goal:

  • To ensure you feel comfortable, supported, and mentally prepared for the experience.

2. Dosing Sessions (Ketamine Sessions)

These are the sessions where ketamine is administered in a safe, controlled environment with your therapist present (or in collaboration with a medical provider).

Format:

  • Administered via lozenge

  • Sessions typically last 1.5 to 2.5 hours

  • May be in person or remote

  • Eyeshades, music, and a calming environment are used to support a deep, inward journey

  • I would offer you non-directive support and monitors your experience

Experience:

  • Clients often enter an altered state of consciousness that can bring up repressed material, emotional insights, and spiritual perspectives.

  • Number of sessions:

A typical course includes 8 dosing sessions, though this varies based on individual goals and response.

3. Integration Sessions

Integration is where much of the healing takes root. After each dosing session, you’ll work with me to process and make meaning of what came up.

What happens:

  • Talking through insights, visions, or emotions from your ketamine experience

  • Applying insights to your daily life, relationships, and inner healing

  • Using tools like journaling, body-based practices, or creative expression

Goal:

  • To bridge the gap between the ketamine experience and lasting change in your life.
